Inspired by the true story, an Englishman travels to a divided Argentina in 1976 to work as a school teacher. Disappointed that Argentina wasn't what he had imagined it to be, and teaching an unteachable cohort of students, his life is turned around by an orphaned penguin that he rescued from an oil slick.
