Spanish colonialist, Don Lope of Aguirre, embarks on a perilous journey in the Peruvian Amazon to find the seven cities of gold, 'El Dorado', of myth. As the expedition ventures deeper into the Amazonian jungle, so too do they venture into the depths of their own minds.
