A coming-of-age story about Billy Rowan, growing up in London as it is ravaged by WWII. Billy and his mates play in the rubble, and his family struggles to cling on to any shred of normalcy obliterated by the hardships of the ongoing war (BAFTA Best Actress in a supporting Role).
