With her Olympic dreams cut short by a devastating accident, a lucky break introduces Molly to the high-stakes world of underground poker. Smart, disciplined and charismatic, she has a knack for the business and begins running her own games in LA, and later New York. The deep pockets of Hollywood royalty, sports stars and business titans give her a decade of glitzy, glamourous success. But Molly attracts the wrong kind of attention when she inadvertently engages the Russian mob at her table.

Pursued by the FBI and facing criminal charges, Molly begs defence lawyer Charlie Jaffey (Elba) to take her case. He’s reluctant at first, but soon learns there's more to the "poker princes'' than the scandalous tabloid stories suggest.
