In the remote South American jungle, the Southern Oil Company rules all in the impoverished village of Las Piedras. But the company is in dire need of supplies of nitroglycerine, and they send out a call for long-distance truck drivers. Southern Oil's wages of $2000 per man are wages of fear - the drivers are required to transport highly volatile nitroglycerine shipments across some of the most treacherous terrain on earth. Four men come forward and accept the challenge, delivering the explosive supplies in two trucks. A tense rivalry develops between the two sets of drivers and on the rough remote roads the slightest jolt can result in death.
