Our History
Rialto Channel is 100% owned by New Zealand businessmen and fully programmed and managed by a team of New Zealand staff, based in Auckland New Zealand.
During the past ten years the channel has grown from a niche arthouse film channel to New Zealand's premiere independent specialist film, documentary and entertainment channel. Rialto Channel viewers are given a wider choice of diverse and engaging programming that is often not available anywhere else on New Zealand television.
Every month Rialto Channel offers its viewers a choice of over 20 new films - March offers compelling British Theatre titles Fanny Hill, A Film With Me In It and Best: His Mother's Son, as well as award-winning independent films Sunshine Cleaning (directed by NZ filmmaker Christine Jeffs), Married Life, The Deal and Shotgun Stories.
World Cinema is also covered with Amal (India), Fermat's Room (Spain), and Oscar-nominee The Class (France). February 'Real View' includes The Matador, The Brothers Warner and Saving Luna.
Rialto Channel is proud to remain completely commericial free!
