Our History
Rialto Channel is 100% owned by New Zealand businessmen and fully programmed and managed by a team of New Zealand staff, based in Auckland New Zealand.
During the past ten years the channel has grown from a niche arthouse film channel to New Zealand's premiere independent specialist film, documentary and entertainment channel. Rialto Channel viewers are given a wider choice of diverse and engaging programming that is often not available anywhere else on New Zealand television.
Every month Rialto Channel offers its viewers a choice of over 20 new films - August offers compelling British Theatre titles including Gunrush, Faintheart, Kings and Act of God. Saturday night Rialto Premieres for August are Undertow, Ponyo, The Cake Eaters, and Lucky Country.
World Cinema this month showcases The Secrets, Seraphine, Louise-Michel, Black Ice and Summer Hours. August 'Real View' includes Just, Melvin: Just Evil, Shakespeare Behind Bars, Sputnik Mania and Still Bill.
'Classic Film Sundays continue in August with The Ipcress File, Last Year At Marienbad, Frances, The Red Shoes and Black Narcissus.

Rialto Channel are thrilled to be involved with two of New Zealand's leading student radio stations - RDU98.5FM in Christchurch, and Radio One 91FM in Dunedin.
On RDU98.5FM, Rialto Channel sponsor the 'Breakfast With Spanky' show, on air every weekday from 7.30am-9.30am. Every Thursday on Radio 1, Rialto Channel sponsors 'Rialto Channel Breakfast' hosted by Aaron.
